Joseph Lockyer was born on July 11, 1939, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Erma Tarro. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, and his two daughters Stephanie Goodart (Roy) and Lori Warby (Lyle), and also his four grandkids, Bailey Goodart (Alan), Jenna Warby, Adisen Goodart, and Sam Warby. He served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ranger from 1958 to 1960.

Joe loved to garden and was always seen in his yard making it immaculate, down to mowing the lawn into a checkerboard pattern. He loved to oil paint and would paint many beautifully detailed Italian scenes. Joe entered some into various art shows; he loved seeing others enjoy his work. One of his pieces won best of show. Out of all of his amazing works of art, his favorites remain the ones he had done of his grandkids.

What he loved the most was his family. He adored his wife, Red, of 56 years, which he doted on her and would always have her favorite chocolates on hand. He loved watching his grandkids and taking them on wagon rides to "pride rock" and "the grand finale."

Being of Italian descent was a major part of his life. He loved to speak Italian, especially declaring "Mangia, Mangia!" after every meal with the classic Italian hand waving. As a yearly tradition, Joe created the famous "Italian" Christmas Eve dinners, which included a spaghetti meal.

We love you and know that you are at peace with your family.
